A Message from Dr. Michael Lewis
Hello! I am Michael Lewis, and I serve as the lead pastor of Roswell Street Baptist Church in Marietta, Ga. I am a follower of Jesus Christ, and my life has been forever changed since the age of twelve when God rescued me from the penalty of my sin by faith in the Lord Jesus Christ! My family and I count it a great blessing to follow Christ and make Him known.
Soon after graduation from high school in Richmond Hill, Ga, I attended Columbia International University and entered my first pastorate at twenty-one years of age. During my college years, God allowed me to meet my beautiful wife Liliana. We are celebrating 28 years of marriage this year. God has blessed us with three wonderful daughters.
In 1996, I graduated with a masters of divinity degree from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. In May, 2005, I received a honorary Doctor of Divinity degree from Liberty University. The Lord has given me the honor of serving churches in SC, GA, TX, & FL as pastor.
Pastor Michael Lewis and his good friend Andy Spencer recently wrote the book: “Lift Your Pastor.” You can purchase your copy today by clicking this LINK. The following paragraph is written on the back of the book…
Research tells us that pastors are 52 percent more likely than the general population to have experienced loneliness in the last three months. Our ministry leaders need close relationships to prevent burnout, fatigue and isolation. Thankfully, Michael Lewis and Andy Spencer are not only aware of these statistics, they’re doing something about them. Pastor Michael is an effective, relevant ministry leader and passionate example and messenger of Great Commission living Empowered by Great Commandment love. He’s also human. Lift Your Pastor tells Michael’s story and how he has been able to ride out the increasing demands of ministry because of God’s provision of a Pastor’s Advocate. Andy is a faithful church leader, successful businessman and world-class encourager. Lift Your Pastor shows how Andy has learned to support, encourage and care for his pastor. His role as Pastor’s Advocate serves as an example for us all. Our world needs confident, committed pastors who will champion the name of Jesus and lift the mantle of God and His people. Pastors, this book is for you. Let this resource remind you of how the people of God can support you as you carry out the calling of God. Advocates, this book is for you. May this resource show you how to lift up your pastor and allow him to more effectively live out God’s ultimate purpose and calling. “Who are you?” is a question that we all seek to answer. Some would answer this question based on their current status of being a student or graduate or certification or followers on social media; others may answer this based on career or pursuit of being a contractor, doctor, IT specialist, pastor. But far beyond what you do in life is who you really are in your identity. Mark Twain once said, “The two most important days in your life are the day you are born and the day you find out why.” Identity is your search to find out why you were born. The basic questions of – “Who am I? Why am I here? Where am I going?” can be answered as your heart is open to receive answers from God. DEFINED is a sermon series based on Romans chapter 8. The question this series poses is – “WHAT DO YOU ALLOW TO DEFINE YOU?” One of the most important discoveries is found in WHO GOD SAYS YOU ARE. God is very clear in His Word of Who He says you are ‘in Christ.’
Come join us as Pastor Michael explores Romans 8 to see how God defines every believer!
