Ezekiel Sermon Series
Ezekiel was a young priest who had just turned 30 years old, but he had no place to serve the Lord as the Temple in Jerusalem had been destroyed and all the inhabitants of Jerusalem taken away into captivity. Imagine the disturbance, darkness and disappointment that filled Ezekiel’s soul – i.e. a feeling of hopelessness. Ezekiel’s fresh encounter with God is what imparted HOPE to his bewildered heart and gave him a new sense of purpose of no longer being a priest, but now a prophet who was commissioned to bring a message of hope and restoration to the exiled people of God. The book of Ezekiel is given by inspiration of God (2 Timothy 3:16) and it is profitable for us today. Jesus told us that this book is given to deepen our love for God and deepen our love for one another (Matthew 22:40). Jesus also said that all the Scriptures testify of Him (John 5:39) and are fulfilled by Him. Hope is needed today, just as it was by Ezekiel in ancient Israel. Hope is found in Jesus (Colossians 1:27; Titus 2:13) and the Spirit of God desires for us to be a source of hope for others (1 Peter 3:15) “giving reason for the hope within you.” Join us for this powerful sermon series on the theme of HOPE taken from the book of Ezekiel!
