Overview:

2020 has been anything but normal! So, where is the world heading? Hope can found in God’s Word. In the Book of Revelation, glorious things are revealed that give us a source of comfort, compassion, cheer and clarity, even as we face the end of a tumultuous year. Join the Roswell Street Church family as we read daily together a chapter from the book of Revelation and come together weekly in worship to celebrate as we experience the wonder of Christmas, “The REVELATION of Glorious Things” – for this Baby born in Bethlehem is Lord of the universe! What are some ‘Glorious Things’ REVEALED in the Book of Revelation about the Christ child? The apostle John writes both the Gospel of John, the 3 letters (1–3 John) and the Book of Revelation. It’s interesting to toggle between John 1 and Revelation 1 – the Word who became flesh is the Final Word of the Father on whom the entire universe depends. – see John 1:1-3, 14, 18. REVELATION is a book of “the Revelation of Jesus Christ.”

Sunday, December 6, 2020 @ 10:30am – “REVELATION of Comfort” – Revelation 1-3

The historical Jesus we read about in the Gospels is the Living, Contemporary Jesus of today. The truth of Scripture requires that we have fresh encounters with Jesus. Christmas is comfort because God is with us, God is for us and God is coming again!

Sunday, December 13, 2020 @ 10:30am – “REVELATION of Compassion” – Revelation 5

John is transported to heaven to the eternal throne room of the universe. He sees glorious things – the throne, One on it, around the throne, the scroll (the title deed to the universe and its future… no one could open causing John to weep). Then an announcement is made – the Lion of Judah has conquered and is worthy to open the scroll. John turns to see the Lion (from book of Amos – the Judge of all mankind) and He sees a slaughtered LAMB. The Lion (Judge) is the Lamb (Savior). This reveals the Compassion of God. – the Judge of all mankind has become Your Savior! REFLECT on the Compassion of God displayed in your life – in saving you, in delivering you from a sinful habit, in healing a broken relationship, in a special provision in time of need.
